Our christmas day lunch

Hey lovelies,

I always decorate the table for christmas day.

Here’s how I decorate our christmas table –

This pic is from 2014 when my mum & dad came for christmas lunch.

We have a silver cutlery set which I always get out at christmas, oh how I love it, christmas is the time I can get everything out that I’ve not had a chance to use all year. I can’t be the only person who does that??

We always have 3 courses.

The veg is always pre-prepared the night before –

For the meat, over the last 3 years we’ve been ordering our meat from Morrisons & we’ve been having the pork loin wrapped in turkey covered in crackling. The 1st year we had it, it was amazing but last year it was a little dry! We will also have a joint from Tesco & it is delicious, always pork of some kind usually with turkey.

We always carrots, roast potatoes, roasted parsnips, brussels, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, sweetcorn, pigs in blankets (sausages wrapped in bacon), in christmas 2014 we also had green beans & usually we have mash but I don’t know if we’ll bother this year??? This year, I also want stuffing & yorkshire puds.

I always love the condiments with my christmas lunch but I can’t just stick to one.

The condiments you’d find on our lunch table on christmas day are –

  • Cranberry sauce
  • Mint sauce
  • Apple sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper

I have a bit of each on my plate (hehe).

I always put the cooked veg & pigs in blankets into our food warmer –

This food warmer is the best thing we’ve bought since we’ve been together, we use it for EVERY party & big lunch we have.

This year (2016) we’re not having our usual turkey & pork joint, we’ve gone for just pork & I can’t wait!!

Our christmas lunch menu this year looks like this –

Starter –

  • I had honeydew melon wrapped in parma ham
  • Richard had petit pain bread with pate
  • My dad doesn’t do starters

Main –

A pork roast ordered from Morrisons (a juicy tender pork loin, lovingly covered in belly pork, coated with a mouth-watering crackling on top). Roasted parsnips, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, brussels, sweetcorn, broccoli, cauliflower, stuffing, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puds & gravy. I ask Richard – what am I missing & he says – oh, I don’t know, the three wise men!! Couldn’t help but laugh! Not forgetting my condiments.

Dessert –

Christmas pudding & custard, although we don’t always have the room for it & save it for another day.

I hope you’ve enjoyed preparing your christmas day menu & I hope it’s incredible.

Bye for now.

Love Sarah Sx
