Desert Island Book Tag

A few weeks ago I was tagged in the Desert Island Book Tag by Cinderzena (thanks by the way). I don’t read as much as I’d like & have 3 books on the go at the moment, about a month ago, I was approached at work to do the 6 books in 6 months challenge, which I signed up for but as of yet haven’t started! I know, I know, naughty but I will……………PROMISE!

Anyway, getting back to the tag……………I took inspiration for my questions from Cinderzenas questions (I hope you don’t mind?) & also from where she got hers!

Water – A book I absolutely need in my life

Harry Potter
The Harry Potter Collection

Oh my, where do I start with explaining how wonderful this collection is???………………..I think it’s everything a book should be………………….sustaining, food for thought, anticipating, scary, exciting (oh the excitement!) & if I was only allowed to read one book for the rest of my life……………………….the Harry Potter collection would be it! Cause the whole collection counts as one book…………………right??? 😉 You go through every single human emotion while you read these, they truly are thirst quenching!! ♥

Food – A book I call my favourite consumption

Harry Potter
The Harry Potter Collection

The Twilight Saga

I couldn’t decide!!! Hehe.

I know, I know, i’m repeating myself with the Harry Potter but this collection really is food for thought for me, I find it so thought-provoking & it satisfies my every need!

The Twilight Saga does exactly the same thing for me as the Harry Potter Collection but with a more serious flavour. ♥

Companion – A book filled with characters I really would relish the company of while stuck on a desert island

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Oh come on, who wouldn’t want to be stuck on a desert island with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, ALL the Weasleys, Padfoot, Madeye, Moony, Prof Dumbledore & let’s not forget Luna Lovegood!!!

Let’s take a few seconds to appreciate the thought……………close your eyes & take long slow breaths, now imagine yourself on a desert island with the above named characters……………..imagine the smells, the sounds, the surroundings…………….now listen in on the conversations around you……………..Rons awkwardness towards Hermione & her wit with the situation, Padfoot & Moony sharing a joke & a memory about James, Dumbledore & Madeye reminiscing over old times, Fred & George concocting their latest invention, trying to persuade Harry to be a guinea pig (soooo hilarious) & Luna talking to Ginny, going on about her latest craze that no-one’s even heard of! Let’s not forget Molly (“you best hope I don’t put bars on your window Ronald Weasley!”……………….I know, but I do love that line in the films, I laugh every time!) Now, no-one can tell me that would not be so much fun & absolutely hilarious?!

This book is full of strong characters, coming together to help each other………………the perfect combination for being stuck on a desert island!

Threat – A book that scared me so much I couldn’t bare it but ended up conquering

clark_all-around-the-town
All Around The Town by Mary Higgins Clark

It didn’t take me long to realise how scared of this book I was going to be & the reason for that is it actually happens! It took me over 2 years to read this because I had to read it in stages, it was too much for me to read it all in one go!

Weapon – A book that is massive & could be used as a weapon

whole-30-books
The Whole30 & It Starts With Food

I’ve chosen these books as my weapon because they are full to bursting with a massive amount of knowledge about the different food groups we eat & what they do to our bodies & minds.

It Starts With Food covers the science behind the different food types & how our bodies & minds react to the foods that we eat & The Whole30 outlines a programme that the authors suggest we follow for 30 days (hence the name Whole30) to enable us to take back control of our body & mind & free our bodies from any food related ailments…………….a note………..it’s not for the faint hearted! Hehe. The programme involves giving up on a number of problematic food groups but the up side is………….IT’S ONLY FOR 30 DAYS!!!

Compass – A book that started me off reading

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

I’d read some books growing up but it wasn’t until I read this book that I fell in love with reading & once I started, I couldn’t stop until I’d finished them all!

That’s it folks! These are the books I’d like with me whilst stuck on a desert island! 🙂

How about you………….

  1. You did it!! Also you took the initiative to not bunk on Harry Potter on all the blanks caz they really do fit in to all the answers!! I would like to read All around the town sometime soon. Looks intriguing!

    1. I did indeed & I loved writing it. Once I got on a roll, it was easy. When you’ve read All Around The Town, you’ll have to let me know what you think.
