Blogmas ~ My top 5 festive candles

I think it’s strange how people have favourite scents for certain times of the year & me, I just love christmas scents at any time of the year, I love the smell of cinnamon & mulled wine.

My top 5 festive candles –

Yankee Candle – Cinnamon Stick

How do I explain the smell of this to you?? If you love the smell of cinnamon, it won’t need no explaining! It heightens all my senses & sometimes, even makes my mouth water.

Yankee Candle – Home Sweet Home

I really do love the smell of this candle, how do I describe something that literally just smells exactly how you would want your house to smell on an average day. It’s such an inviting, cosy scent.

Yankee Candle – Star Anise & Orange

This candle is a new find for me, it was in my advent calendar. I’ve only smelt it once but I love it.

Yankee Candle – Midsummer Night

Yankee Candle – Autumn Night

I can’t remember exactly which way round it is between Autumn Night & Midsummer Night but one smells of a sexy man wearing gorgeous aftershave & the other smells of log fires burning in the distance, walking through the country side when it’s cold & crisp yet with a warming aroma & pub gardens in the later part of the year.

Burning candles is a fairly new joy for me, I’ve been into burning them for about 3 months & I love it, it can be addictive. Hehe.

Yankee Candle have loads to choose from, I’ve only just dipped my toes into their obsessively glorious selection.

I got a Yankee Candle advent calendar this year (yay) & I love it, one thing I’ve learnt though, the votive candles are so much better than the tea light candles (I know, I know, you’d assume that would’ve been obvious, well, it wasn’t! Hehe), they last longer & smell stronger! I’m looking forward to-day 24, it’s a votive & the christmas eve scent.

Just for kicks, I thought I’d add the ones I would love to try before the festive season is over –

  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Garland
  • Ebony & Oak
  • Bundle Up
  • Ginger Dusk
  • Sparkling Snow
  • Candy Cane Lane
  • Season Of Peace
  • Winter Glow
  • Cosy by the Fire
  • Red Apple Wreath
  • Moonlight
  • Wild Fig

This blog post has taught me something, I should make a note of what each candle smells like, what it reminds me of & how it makes me feel as it’s burning – lesson learnt!

I hope you’re enjoying the festive season & loving some amazing scents.

Bye for now.

Love Sarah Mx
