I recently went to a music festival & it was a 1st for 2 things for me – going to a festival & camping…………………turns out, I love them both!
Why I was so anxious about going………………………..
I’d never been to a festival before & heard horror stories about the toilets at festivals (I’ll NEVER go Glastonbury!) & I’d never been camping before either, well, apart from in mine & a friends back garden as a child but that don’t count! Richard & my dad came with me to put the tent up & I made a point of telling Richard not to put me ANYWHERE near the loos, I didn’t even want to be within queuing distance of them, I’d have been happy on the other side of the field from the loos! Well, he didn’t do that, we could see the loos from our little camping area, Richard & dad were the 1st ones in out of our group, so they picked the site for all of us. Turns out, the site they picked was, in my opinion, the best on the field (well done to them) & I worried for nothing, even though we could see the toilets, we couldn’t smell them from where we were! BONUS cause they smelt baaaaad on occasion! I worried about the loos for nothing! I was also anxious about leaving my belongings for hours on end unattended inside the tent, so, I padlocked the tent…………cause that’ll stop anyone who wanted to get in a tent wouldn’t it??? An enclosure made from material (IDIOT!)! Again, worried for nothing, no-one was interested in anything other than enjoying themselves.
The atmosphere was electric, everyone was having a laugh & enjoying themselves, the only thing we needed to seriously worry about the heat – it was HOT, HOT, HOT!
I shared a tent with one of my sisters, we shared a little camp area with 2 of our nieces, one of their friends, our future sister-in-law & 2 of her friends, I couldn’t have asked for a better group to go camping with & the weather was amazing (even if I did get sunburnt)!

We had an amazing weekend. It was the 1st one of these festivals at Cattows Farm in Leicestershire & I’m pretty sure they’ll be another one next year about the same time (I’m assuming).
The atmosphere was fab & although the main food on offer was sausage related (good thing my favourite meat is pig!), it was delicious, even if a tad pricey (£6 for a sausage & salad wrap), they did have other flavour sausages available & vegan options!
The drinks were a tad over priced in my opinion although probably not as expensive as other festivals!
Festival ticket prices ranged from £29 – £89, I got mine off Groupon for £29.

If there is one next year, I strongly recommend you go, you’ll be glad you did! They do hold this festival in other places around the country.
If you’re reading this & you were one of our little camping group, REMEMBER where we were for next year cause it’d be amazing if we could get the same spot & the same set up as this year!
